Today did some move envelope sketches, these were quick 5min each or less. The top right was little longer. reference from "human figure in motion".
The point in these is basically to block out a geometric shape in which the figure would fit in, keeping it simple. Then concentrate on the negative space, starting with the larger areas progressing to the smaller areas, its like carving out the figure.
